Dawkins and Gardner no longer with the IU football program

Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson announced today that redshirt sophomores Will Dawkins and Tim Gardner are longer members of the Indiana football program. Dawkins played safety and he was from Vero Beach, Florida, while Gardner was an offensive lineman from Indianapolis Lawrence Central H.S. He started his career at Ohio State but was dismissed. He then enrolled at New Milford Prep Academy before transferring to IU.

Both players redshirted in 2014 and saw some action last fall. Dawkins played in nine games with three starts, and he recorded 17 tackles and one pass breakup. Gardner saw action in 11 games as a back-up offensive lineman.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head football coach Kevin Wilson announced today that redshirt sophomore defensive back Will Dawkins and redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Tim Gardner are no longer a part of the program.

“We thank Will and Tim for their contributions,” Wilson said. “They are leaving IU in good academic standing and we wish them the very best moving forward."
