Welcome: A Letter To Our Readers

TheHoosier.com, the new Indiana site in the Rivals network, is a mixture of the past, the present and the future.

The features, message boards, recruiting coverage and game reports you have enjoyed in the past will still be here.

We’ve put together a strong staff that includes two former sportswriters for the Indiana Daily Student, IU’s outstanding student newspaper; one of the best basketball recruiting reporters in the country; a basketball junkie with several years of experience with paid-subscription web sites; and a hoops enthusiast with over 25 years of AAU coaching experience in Indiana.

Our goal is to provide you the best coverage on the Web of Indiana basketball, football and recruiting. Examples include the summer basketball recruiting hot boards and enhanced daily newsstand on the front page of the site. There’s much more to come in the months ahead.

Our staff:

Jacey Zembal — Jacey started his career at Fox Sports and also worked at the Daily Herald in Wausau, Wis. For the last nine years he has covered basketball, football and recruiting for the NC State site in the network, and in 2013 he was named the MVP of the Rivals network. Jacey has a passion for, and a tremendous knowledge of, basketball recruiting.

Jordan Wells – Jordan managed a Western Kentucky site in both the Scout and Rivals networks, and worked for over a year at the Rivals Notre Dame site. Jordan loves basketball and is looking forward to sharing that passion with you.

Stu Jackson – Stu earned his degree in sports journalism from IU this spring. The Carmel native worked for the Indiana Daily Student as a sophomore, and then spent his junior and senior years writing for the Indiana site in the Scout network. Stu will be very involved in all facets of our team and recruiting coverage.

Sam Beishuizen – Sam was the sports editor of the Indiana Daily Student the second semester of his freshman year and the first semester of his sophomore year. As a junior, he wrote for the IU athletic department. The Crown Point native will be a major contributor to our coverage while finishing up his degree in marketing and professional sales next spring.

Jim Reamer – Jim has coached AAU basketball in the state of Indiana for over 25 years and currently oversees EG10 in Eric Gordon’s summer program. He also owns Metro Indy Basketball, which runs a fall high school basketball league and a summer college league in the Carmel area. Jim’s vast experience in Indiana prep basketball circles will be a major asset to the site.
