2017 in-state DB commits to IU

Kevin Wilson and his staff picked up their third commit for 2017 when Avon (IN) Avon H.S. standout Bryant Fitzgerald pledged to the Hoosiers today. The three-star recruit joins Arkansas receiver Josh Johnson and Florida offensive lineman Tyler Knight as commits for Indiana in the 2017 recruiting class.

Fitzgerald chose IU over an offer from Miami (OH) and interest from Iowa, Michigan State, Maryland, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Cincinnati, Boston College and Colorado State. He told Peegs.com back in October that he has a great relationship with the Indiana coaching staff.

"Our relationship is great," Fitzgerald said. "I am always down there and they love me and I love the coaching staff. It is always a fun environment to be around when I'm down there. We communicate every day and I really like it there."

Fitzgerald also said that when it comes to his college choice education would be a major factor in his decision.

“The education will be big for me,” he said. “I want to major in business and maybe go into accounting or something like that. The environment of the school will also be important for me. I will also look at the relationship between the players and the coaches and how the coaches treat their players.”

Peegs.com will have more on this developing story.
